The best thing about Thailand is all so modern and the people are so friendly. The accommodation and food is so cheap. Remember, at least two weeks left to enjoy your time there.

The other highlight of Thailand, the people speak English well, so it's not too difficult to communicate.

I suggest you go to Thailandand ask the local travel agents for cheap hotel deals. Buying them overseas could be more expensive and you wouldn't have the benefit of the local knowledge. You can also score a bargain and get free tours. Top 10 destinations you should visit include:

1. Bangkok - hustle and bustle, great for shopping and bargain hunting

2. Phuket - gorgeous beaches

3. Chang Mai - where there are plenty of historical relics

4. Chang Rai - beautiful temples

5. Phuket - lovely resorts and delicious seafood

6. Hua Hin - beautiful beach near Bangkok

7. Pattaya - shopping and water sports

8. Krabi - natural mountains and beaches

9. Koh Samui - paradise and coconut island

10. Phang Nga - conservation park and unspoilt beaches

If you are planning for a trip to Thailand, always do a quick research on the reputable Thai eateries and plan to make a visit to them.

The top 10 food you should try include:

1. Tom yum Gar soup

2. Pud Thai noodles

3. Juicy red curry with roast duck

4. Hot Green curry with fresh coconut juice

5. Basil seafood

6. Chilli fresh mud crab

7. Spicy beef salad

8. Crispy green papaya salad

9. Cashew nut chicken stir fried

10. Open grill BBQ satays

I am a chef and I love my Thai food! Why? Thai cuisine is so interesting with all its flavours and fresh ingredients, you can hardly fault it. Thai food can also be very healthy for you if you use lean meat and fresh ingredients in your cooking. To be honest, it isn't hard to cook Thai food. The most important thing to remember is to use fresh in season produce and avoid frozen ingredients. Frozen ingredients usually have lost a lot of their flavours. Thai food can be made and served at dinner parties. It is also very easy to adapt to different peoples tastes. So if you have fussy guests it isn't difficult to satisfy them. The food has so many rich flavours it is hard for any food critic to find weakness in properly made Thai cuisine.

Have a safe trip and have a lovely time!

Getting to Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

If you want to go to Koh Phi Phi in Thailand then I hope you have your sea legs because there is no airport on the island and the only way you are going to get there is by boat. You can take the slower and cheaper route and take the public ferry or if you are in a hurry you can charter a speedboat. You will cut your travel time in half, but it will cost you more than double.

As I said, the cheaper way to travel to Koh Phi Phi is via the public ferry. Whether you are leaving from Phuket or Krabi, there are ferries that make the crossing to Phi Phi on a daily basis. The ferry from Krabi leaves from the pier in Krabi town 3 times a day (10:30, 14:30 and 16:00) and the trip takes about 90 minutes. The cost is just 250 baht which is less than $10.

Ferries from Phuket also take about 90 minutes, but will cost you almost double or 450 baht. They leave from Rasada pier daily at 8:30 and 13:30. In either case, the ferry will drop you at Tonsai Bay in Koh Phi Phi and if your hotel or resort is located elsewhere on the island you will need to arrange for transport from there to your hotel. This isn't too difficult as there are many longtail boats at Tonsai willing to take you to most any point on the island.

If cost isn't a factor and you just want to get to Phi Phi as quickly as possible then your best bet is to charter a speedboat. This is undoubtedly the quickest way to get to the island as well as the most convenient. Speedboats can make the crossing and have you back on land on Phi Phi in as little as 45 minutes. Even better, many speedboats can drop you on the beach by your hotel so you can shave even more travel time off your trip.

You can expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 baht per person for this luxury. Costs can be somewhat higher than that during the high season and depending on your ability to barter with the speedboat captain. You can also cut the cost per person quite a bit if you have a larger party. There are speedboats that can accommodate up to 20 passengers and if you can fill one of these your cost might be close to the same as taking the ferry.

If you plan on taking a speedboat then plan on leaving by 16:00 as the speedboat captains prefer to get back before night falls. You can get a speedboat from either Phuket or Krabi.

Railay Beach, Thailand

Railay Beach, Thailand, also known as Rai Leh, is a popular beach resort on the Andaman Coast in Krabi, Thailand. One of its prime attractions other than its beautiful beach is the presence of towering limestone cliffs.

Railay Beach, Thailand excites tourists with its unique access. Being a peninsula, cutoff from the mainland by oceans and mountains, it can be reached only by a longtail boat ride. Regular services are available from Ao Nang, Krabi, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi and Phuket.

Tourists prefer Railay for two reasons - its tranquility and incredible rock climbing opportunities. While its secluded nature attracts families and honeymooners, the limestone formations lure the backpacking crowd. Railay has accommodation options to cater to these two groups.

Rayavadee Premier Resort on Phra Nang beach is the best accommodation Railay has to offer. Being the lone resort on the beach, it offers complete privacy for its guests. In the mid-range, Railay has a number of accommodation choices, most of them located on its west side. Railay's budget accommodations, though not many, are found along its eastern side. The neighboring Ton Sai beach, located barely 10 minutes away, has more choices in this segment.

Railay beach has a variety of restaurants and bars to cater to the needs of the tourists. Most of them serve the local cuisine that is both tasty and affordable. The west-end of Railay has a few hi-end restaurants, some of them located on the beach.

Rock climbing is one of Railay's main reasons for popularity in the world tourist map. However, the steep limestone cliffs are not suitable for beginners. Avid rock climbers flock to Railay to enjoy the thrill and breath-taking sea views from the cliff tops.

Railay Beach Thailand also has limited possibilities for divers and snorkeling enthusiasts, as marine life and coral reefs are not as attractive or diverse as in other Thailand Beaches. The sea caves along the shore of Phra Nang offers numerous opportunities for kayakers.

c. Dive Sites - Koh Phi Phi and Koh Tao offers the best dive sites in southern Thailand.

d. The predominant level of accommodation. Phuket and Koh PhiPhi offers a wide variety of luxury hotels, while Koh Phangan and Koh Tao most basic (not necessarily low standard) provides accommodation.

Second error 2: Assuming that the holidays can be an ideal place for a very low. Some travelers often mistakenly thought that Thailand as a country with low rates of economic development we sell everything, including a high standard of patient ridiculous. This is partly true, as the local tourism industry, offers aLow cost travel options for backpackers. But the tourists used to enjoy pampered luxury Westernized find the hard way that his expectations of travel expenses that are appropriate to challenge, what is offered. To avoid this serious error and correct deviations from the planned budget - Do your research on price differences in the south of Thailand to reach the islands. For example, you should know that staying in some islands (eg, Koh PhiPhi) should be more expensive, while the other islands (eg, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao) can significantly cheaper. To avoid disappointment on this expenditure, I strongly recommend the following guidelines:

Others Do you plan a budget based on estimates of someone else, especially if that person visits the Thai islands many years ago, spent the holiday in an island different from her, much younger than you chose or prefer a different lifeStandard.

b. An informed decision about the desired level of accommodation. The basic arrangement of a clean room with air conditioning and western style bathroom contains, can be booked at a relatively low, except at ridiculous price. In contrast, a luxury accommodation (the accommodation is quite common in Phuket and Koh Samui) can be as expensive as hotels in your neighboring country.

c. Although the revision of rates is possible with the help ofInternet - price of food must be carefully evaluated, as well. Do not assume that no matter where you eat - food is cheap. During my first visit to Thailand, I was very surprised to receive a check for the same value in my country. Now I know that the South Island of Thailand offers a variety of restaurants in western style with western-style prices. Therefore, before a well-designed restaurant - check the menu to make it clear and budget.

Third Mistake 3:Choose your own holiday by the sea. This is comparable with the error number - but perhaps easier to correct, because the review is other beaches on the destination server easier and more convenient logistically control other islands. However, the beach of "wrong choice, you feel that you are not the full potential of your holiday, exploited, or you have wasted a substantial part of it. For example, in my first visit in Koh Phangan I discovered two days before the end of myFor the holidays, my beach is perfect across the island. The following tips may help you avoid a similar situation:

Others The crowd and the more developed beaches on most islands are close to the airport (if there is an airport in your own island) or a major port.

b. If you prefer nature above the beaches - are aware that some of them, especially in Koh Samui and Phuket are not, for families.

c. Old Schoolbeaches are always quiet and picturesque part of the island. If the "old school" beach is what you want - do not let go, even if the way Thailand was long and tiring, and trying to make a small effort to make the island on the way to the opposite side of the cross, will be useful for you.

Fourth Error 4: Western emphasis on food. Some of us tend to worry about food, experimenting with an alien. The Thai tourism industry is aware of this fact; Therefore, the supply of Western-style restaurants in southern Thailand islands is huge. This apart, to postpone, these restaurants could be a big mistake, since the prices are much higher compared to Western cuisine Those who lose in authentic local restaurants, and even worse, one of the most important experiences of Thai culture - the higher Thai cuisine, probably one of the best in the world. To avoid this error, please do not come in small restaurantswith ridiculously neglected interior, plastic cards and facing walls. These restaurant owners' are probably the worst marketing - but generally are superior cooks. meal in one of these restaurants is often incredibly cheap, tasty and above all fresh ingredients sizzle. You dream of these meals long after they leave the island.

Fifth error 5: For your big business houses on an island in the sea could not be read. A large suitcaseis [much cheaper in Europe] with him you can pack everything you need can easily be done through these small wheels, and makes you look very representative. However, a large suitcase on Koh Phangan and Koh Tao is not something I would recommend. Platforms in the pillars are very narrow and sometimes unstable. So if you're really lucky - your big suitcase will be safe. If you are a bit 'less fortunate - may fall into water. If you're short of luck- You can fall into water along with the suitcase. I think a backpack seriously your best bet. Just for the record, the huge trunk, which was taken by me on his first trip to Koh Phangan was somewhere in the jungle left to frighten the local monkeys.

So the next time the idea of heading the islands of Thailand through the mind, as tempting as it is, try not to succumb to the voices and images fascinating. Extensive research and planning in advance can take some timeand effort on your part, but it is more useful.

Review of Sivara Spa - Bangkok, Thailand

Sivara Spa is a luxury chain spa exclusive to Amari Hotels and Resorts in various parts of Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Chang, Krabi, Patttaya, Phuket, Samui, Trang)
On my last trip to Bangkok, I stayed at the Amari Watergate and Sivara Spa is tucked away on the 8th floor of the hotel and facing the swimming pool and health and fitness centre.
The Sivara Spa at the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok is newly renovated to a modern and contemporary Thai style. As you walk into the reception, you can find a delightful interplay of bronze "lotus flowers", water walkways, stones, curtains, candlelight and flowers.
There are three spacious zen-themed double rooms and 5 single treatment rooms. Each of the themed double rooms is assigned to a signature treatment.
In the spa brochure own words, the various themes for the treatment rooms are:
The Mystical Forest room harnesses the spirit of the forest and allows guests to meditate on the power of nature. This botanically-inspired room features a tropical rain shower to wash away the stress of the day. The refreshing blends of essential oils used for the massages will leave the body feeling rejuvenated.
In Floral Bloom room, you can guarantee that tension will drain away and the spirit will be revived with a rose petal bath in this floral paradise. The fragrances of flowers will cleanse and purify your soul, whilst the ylang ylang, lavender and marjoram essential oils, used in the treatments, provide the ultimate feminine indulgence.
In the Herbal Inspiration room, the healing qualities of herbs - known for centuries, as nature's gift to mankind - are combined with luxurious pampering.
I opted for the "Sarada Package" (2hrs) treatment which comprises a oil massage & facial. I was not keen to do a facial and the receptionist was flexible enough to change the facial to a body scrub instead.
From the lighting and temperature in the room, to the volume of music and pressure applied during massages or scrubs, the therapist was so caring and considerate for my entire treatment. The gentle therapist at the spa truly live up to the gracious spirit of the Thai's spa culture.
For total relaxation, the Sivara Spa also offer a complete range of massage, spa, facial and body treatments. The selection of treatments include Thai and oil massages, body polishes and wraps, facials, and even a customized half day, full day, multi-days spa program. There is also the awesome 4-hands massage, which has become the signature treatment of high-end Thailand's spa, but due to time constraints, I could not find time for this famous treatment.
The prices in the Sivara Spa are typical of hotel spas and are hence slightly on the high side. If you are a guest of the hotel, make sure you pick up a discount voucher at the hotel concierge which will entitle you to a 10% discount and a free floral foot bath.
