UK Holiday Resorts to Visit This Summer

The great thing about holidays in the UK is they can be as spontaneous as you are with many different resorts just a short drive or train journey away it's easy to find somewhere here in the UK to spend a family holiday at.

Blackpool
Blackpool is one of the first resorts people think of when they think of holiday resorts here in the UK, the pier and the beach have been there for decades with the majority of the UK flocking to the northern shores of Blackpool in the sixties and seventies. With the introduction of the jumbo jet a lot of UK tourists flew away to Spain but in recent years the resort of Blackpool has done really well drawing in new business especially with the Pleasure Beach theme park.

Skegness
Another resort oft-mentioned is Skegness, Skegness is on the opposite coast to Blackpool so its beach leads on to the North Sea. This doesn't mean that the seas will be as cold as the countries on the other side of the water. Skegness is similar to Blackpool but has the advantage of being more central in the British Isles making it more accessible for more people. The Pier, Embassy Centre and nature parks near to Skegness make it perfect for family holidays to entertain all the children, teenagers and adults.

Bognor Regis
Bognor Regis is another popular resort but this time on the south coast of Britain between Worthing and Portsmouth, along the southern coast is a common place for many people to spend a day at the beach due to the southernmost point of the UK being closer to the Mediterranean and mainland Europe countries that enjoy warmer weather. In the summer the south coast can get incredible weather and heat to satisfy even the staunch Spain sun worshipper.

Minehead
Minehead is situated slightly inland on the Somerset coast, a short distance away from south Wales and only a short journey away from another summer holiday favourite: Weston -Super-Mare. Minehead is the site of one of the main countrywide holiday park companies, Butlins, and so there is plenty to enjoy at their parks but also the location of Minehead means there's plenty of activities like mountain biking, pony trekking and other countryside activities and sights to enjoy.

So with this short list there are already destinations all over the country that are potential holiday hot spots this year, and with the renewed interest in holidaying in the UK many resorts are receiving the benefit of increased investment and more things to see and do.
